Careers at Cornerstone

We develop fully devoted and activated followers of Jesus.

That's the work we get to do here. It takes a team to do it well, and right now we're looking for a few more people to join ours.

About Cornerstone

A church in Cheshire since 1982.

Cornerstone started in September 1982, when Pastor Howard Renker set out to reach people in Cheshire with the message of Jesus. The first church building went up in 1996. In 2002, Pastor Eric and Sandra Bucci stepped in to lead a congregation of about seventy-five people. They were newly married then. They have three children now — Luke, Hannah, and Matthew.

In 2014 we moved into a new fifteen-thousand-square-foot worship facility, and the building we left behind became a children's ministry center that opened in early 2016.

Today about 1,100 people gather with us across four Sunday services, and more than 2,000 call Cornerstone their home church. We're still growing, and that's why we're hiring.

How we get there

Four steps, and each one builds on the last.

This is the path we invite every person at Cornerstone to walk. Every role on our staff exists to help people take the next step.

Know God

Sunday services are designed for people at every stage of the journey, and especially for those who don't yet have a genuine relationship with God.

Find Freedom

Life change happens in relationships. Cornerstone is a church of small groups, not a church with small groups — a place to connect, protect one another, and grow together.

Discover Purpose

The Growth Track walks you through three steps to discover and develop your purpose, and to live the full life God created for you.

Make a Difference

Every member is a minister, every person is gifted in some area, and every task is important. The Dream Team is where that gets put to work.

Our core values

The four things that shape how we work.

These aren't wall decorations. They show up in how we hire, how we lead, and how we treat each other on an ordinary Tuesday.

Love God

Everything starts here. The love of God must be first in our lives. Everything we do flows from that love.

Love People

We love God and therefore we love people as he does. People are not a means to an end. They are the very work we are called to.

Pursue Excellence

We do the work well because it matters, and because the people we serve are worth it. Excellence, not perfectionism.

Choose Joy

Joy is a decision we make together, on the hard weeks as much as the good ones.

Who we are, and who we answer to

We're an Assemblies of God church, and we're accountable in three directions.

Cornerstone is an Assemblies of God church. The AG began in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and there are now more than 12,700 AG churches across the United States. Our district office is in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, and the denomination's world headquarters is in Springfield, Missouri.

If you're weighing a role here, this is worth knowing up front.

Guided by

Pastors

Our pastoral staff team is led by Pastor Eric, and together they carry the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church.

Protected by

Deacons

Six members of the congregation oversee finances and facilities, and give counsel to the Senior Pastor on major commitments.

Strengthened by

Overseers

The District Council of the Assemblies of God provides spiritual protection and accountability.
